I have heard a lot Of problems with dodge. My folks had problems as well trying to test drive a new Ram when they came out. They ended up Buying one but I went into the shop 4 times for the same problem and they didn't want to honor the lemon law. They Said that they had a few problemswith the the same thing in other trucks which was the steering. Rack and pinion in a truck is junk. They said Dodge was going to recall it as soon as they would figure out how to fix it but my parents didn't want it. After bringing a lawer into it they finaly said they where going to buy the truck back so my folks bought a new GMC to replace it. Unfortunatly the Dodge sat for 6 months before Chrysler sent them a check and even thenthey tried to short change them 3 grand. The manager of the dealership they went to to;d my fgather to *uck off and never to return. None of my family will ever buy a chrysler product again and no chrysler products are alowed in my faters driveway. There's my experiance with dodge.

well lets see i'm 34 and the sticker price including ttl and destination charge was 19,995.00 and i had my 9 yr old son with me, so he didn't have to worry about me tryin to hotrod it, there are no excuses to be made for chrysler they just think that they don't stink, and i say PEW, but i'm only one opinion.

Whats going on. Had to respond to this thread since my friend owns an 03 srt4.

Basically the real difference in the 03 and 04 model is the 04 has the stage 1 injectors computer and has a LSD. Yes it does produce more power than 03 but my friend sinks like all his free cash into his car. His has 317 trq and 290 hp round abouts. Currentlly he is running a 13.4 1/4 mile time. His car with just a k&n insert dynoed 240 hp and i fogot the torque, thats on his 03.

As for my alero I bought a 2003 2.2 ecotec. Being a previous cavalier owner I really wanted the ecotec motor. Mods galore. THe v6 was the same engine in the pontiac transports and luminas that i have seen and always have expensive problems down the road. But any way I have this thing about giving my friends srt a good run and i know my 75 shot wont do it. Thinking about that Hahn Racekraft turbo setup. Anybody have thoughts or warning on this.

Despite the track performance of the srt-4 dodge/chrysler has a history of making disposable cars, that the bottem line... anyone remember the K car

I dont know about Naich.. or the rest of the admin section.. but some one should put in a edit so that dodge/neon/chrysler = GARBAGE B) ...not only that.. but my moms boss had her jeep in for service at the local dodge dealer...
$95, an hour .. for shop rate... thats rediculous

JonE, I also have an ecotec and looking into turbo project...the Hahn kit looks nice, check out exploited racing as well...just remember your gonna have to do some upgrading to the tranny and perhaps the axels? Keep me updated if you come across anything, like tunes for an ecotec setup, etc...as for the SRT-4, nice car, looks like its on steroids with how the back sits so high, I definetely wouldnt mind one, but looks like im stuck with an alero for a good time coming unless something in the near future alters that.

ok guys, you have to think about some things there is a sleeper neon built from '94 to '99. looks like a 4 dr base mosel with foglight holes but no foglights. it is the acr model. acr for american club racer. came with a slightly modified sohc or dohc 2.0, full adjustable suspension, high flow exuast, high flow intake, mopar goodies all over. the sohc stock made 140 fwhp and 155 lb ft. the dohc made 150 fwhp and 160 lb ft the car was also very light with no ac or stereo equip. weighing aroun 2100lbs. cars ran low 15s from the factory that way. my 98 neon r/t from the factory was set up the same way except it had ac and stereo equipment. the car had a high rev limit aroun 8k and handled great. my 98 ran mid 15's from factory. it weighed a little more at 2400lbs. these cars are very easy to modify and make fast a few days of tweaking on the dyno and mapping the ecu with no other mods than stock. i managed a 188 fwhp and 197 lb ft of torque. after that i put on a cold air intake and full header and exhuast system, underdrive pulleys, and nology wire and plug set and was runnin very fast, all of these mods are hard to see with just the naked eye, so imagine if this guy had any kind of internal mods. these cars have a ton of mods that can be performed. just look at howellautomotive.com or modernperformance.com and you'll see testaments of 12 second naturally aspirated neons.

heres another thing to think about, i dont think i have ever met a dodge fan that didnt own a gm or ford product that wasnt a peice of shit, ive never met a gm fan that didnt own a ford or chrysler product that wasnt a peice of shit, ive never met a ford fan that didnt own a gm or chrysler product that wasnt a peice of shit, ive never met a import fan........................get the picture. ive owned fords chryslers and gm's and imports. ive owned gm, ford, chrysler and import peices of shit. the only vehicles never to give me any problem was my 98 neon r/t, my 98 honda cbr 600, and my 2005 impala patrol car. and currently my 01 alero. but ive only had it about a month
