Doors Freezing...

So when it rains/snows then the temps drop well below freezing my doors get frozen in place. To the point where sometimes I have to pry on the door frame while opening trying to open it to break away the ice. It's not like the ice is on the outside its all on the part that the door comes in contact with the roof, the door jam part. It's extremely annoying.

Anybody else have this problem, or does my Alero just not like cold...?

My mom's car does that, I get to be the lucky one to pull them open for her when it happens. My Alero does it too sometimes, but not all the time (thank goodness).

This is funny, my mom's Lincoln is doing that, too. But today the door would not latch or stay closed when I tried to close it after getting in the car, so I had to sit there for 10 minutes till the lock and latch functioned.

Happened to every car I've ever had. Including the "X's" Altima about 2 hours after saying to me "Japanese car doors don't freeze"

I usually hit the seal around the edges with a few quick pounds. (never dented it) and break up the ice.

opens just fine after that. But... I did put dielectric grease on it about 2 years ago to help seal better. (wasn't for the ice reason)

My car does it to. The Alero did it several times last winter and I went to open the doors on my Intrigue last night and the doors were frozen, but I still managed to get it open.

Having this trouble now too. Going to try silicone spray or dielectric grease one one of the doors first to see if that makes a difference.

I have used silicone spray which helps, but doesn’t solve the problem. The heavier dielectric grease may be a better choice to try first.

I will try dielectric grease on one door, and silicone spray on another and report back.
