My alero performance is all stock. I need some help in deciding what i should do as far as performance. First two things will be a dual exhaust and CAI. After that I'm kinda lost. I don't wanna to anything crazy but just a few things to make it run better and sound better overall. ANY IDEAS??

hey, I know you offered it to this kid, but I'll take the intake manifold...

Anyways you should do these
Lower it, I don't care if you consider it a cosmetic upgrade, it's pointless to supe up a 4x4 Alero IMO
Intake + Exaust (prefferably at the same time)
Headers
Throttle Body
Intake manifold
that should be good for starters

don't do the dual exhaust. it gonna cost more that it will gain, just get a good 2.5" crush bent or 2.25 mandrel bent single exhaust. CAI is good. MAybe move into some pulleys. Port the intake manifold to match the TB. headers if you got the $$. that's not too bad of a start for bolt ons.

CAI
2.5 or 2.25 mandrel bent exhaust cat back system
2.3 HO TB
2.3 HO Intake
UR crank pulley
Header
motor mount
B&M or Interceptor

that would be a good start

K, I should be receiving my 2.3HO TB and Manifold soon. Quick question, before I install them, is there anything I should do to clean them up appearance wise, for example powder coat or chrome??? just wondering because I never had anything like this before and I just want everything under the hood to look nice?

depends how fany you wanna get...you could polish the intake manifold...i had started but lost hope in the 'ho so dropped the project, its not as shiny as Oldsman's, but its better then the rough finish it's got.

well I received my 2.3HO TB and manifold which is awesome. Before I install them I have to figure out my charging system problem. Once the TB and manifold are installed I'll have them along with a magnaflow exhaust. I'm starting slowly but surely. Next few things performance wise might be CAI/WAI, interceptor, and once I figure out what type of drop I should give my ride, springs. Than I will get back to appearance which is now just basically mold on body kit and paint job. Pics of my current ride should be up soon.

make sure before you install 2.3HO manifold you slot out the mounting holes for the studs and drill the holes lower for the bolts above the studs, and also modify the shape of each port to somewhat match the 2.4's B shape ports, like this:

Also, for a write up on how to do this correctly, here's a couple links to 2 different articles:

my opinion in the end of all things. Crank pully is a waste of time..

however, if you have to upgrade it, and just have the desire to touch everything... 2.3HO crank pulley does the charm too.

I will be installing the 2.3 TB and manifold the middle of next week. I did print off the directions from one of the links above. So is there any special modifying that needs to be done for the 2.3 TB and manifold to fit the 2.4 engine or is it pretty simple????
