Dont do this

To All Looking At This Thread Do Not Take The Relay Out And Snip The Pin, Because When You Find Out That When There Is No Light That The Car Will Throw The Svs Light You Will Be Pissed. I Tried This Mod This Past Weekend And Notice That With The Presence Of Light It Worked Fine, But Once It Got Night And I Tried Again (just A Hunch) The Svs Light Came On. Thank God I Bent Mine So I Could Put It Back.

Yeah I did mine on the 2000 2.4L so yeah I should have mentioned that could be different on different years. Pimp you said you took the relay out completely and it didn't throw the light on at all? I think it would throw the svs light when that relay is found missing, but if not I may try that if you are sure it works. Go a pic?

Yeah but you have a different Year. When I did mine I didn't realize it until it got dark. When it tried to switch it threw the light on immediately, but when I shined the flashlight on the sensor it wouldn't do it.

ok so OLD THREAD REVIVAL here ..
im putting in HID's tonight in my 9006 low beams on a 99 gls... so does the snipping method work or not? also if on the 99 the DRL are the highs would i even need to disable them since my HID's are for the lows? thanks

I'm not sure if 99's are the same as 2004 but I have HID's in low beam and all that I did was remove the relay completely. No problems or codes.

*sigh* search button works great. i think this is the 3rd or 4th time in a couple months i've reposted this for people wondering about drl disable stuff.

http://www.aleromod.com/forums/showp...7&postcount=71

disables drl perfectly on a 99, no codes anytime, auto lamps still work.

How about just taking the bulbs out?... or using blown bulbs?... or sniping the +wire at the bulb socket itself?
