Sure did. The only year you couldn't get a 4-cylinder with a manual was 1999.

You know, it is possible to put a manual tranny under the 3.4. I wonder how much more of an edge that would give it in this comparison?

untill around 20 mph.. then the V6 would suck you up through its intake.

You don't realize how the gear ratios change the acceleration. The final drive ratio on the 5-speed is 3.94. My Ecotec can keep up with V6s.

my ex had a sister with alero 2.4 ex had v6 gagt. we took off first alero beat us so bad it was pathetic. ex weights 100 pounds sister 300 with her 300 pound bf in passanger seat. both cars stock. so maybe the gear ratio does make a difference cuz we got spanked over and over again.

In my real-life track experience, the 3400 is quicker in the 1/4 than either the 2.2 or 2.4. The 2.4 manual is capable of beating it, but the driver has to be pretty good and get a very good launch.
This is, of course, stock vs. stock. The 2.2 is the better engine to mod for sure, and it is the more reliable motor.

hmmm....maybe because you're supercharged, pushing about the same amount of power, if not more with a lighter engine?

250 > 170, I should easily be trappin 13s at the moment, but I need to put in my bigger injectors, tune, spray meth, and use the forged engine. Too risky to run at the track atm.

I said that this year or somethin, but who wants to drive their car a long distance and risk having it break on the track? I'll race. Hell everyone drives em hard and "races" on the street. (Billy lost to Jackal, bad.) Lets go to the track and get some times. My house is nearby if anyone breaks down and the Aleromod crew can all fix it.
