Or he could actually know something about cars and be able to spot the year of the car he is racing. I couldn't even make a list of all the cars I have both won and lost against at the track.

And it seems the classic "You have a 4cyl Alero, there is no way you could beat anything" never gets old on this site.....

I'm saying my car which has the 2.2L ecotec is slow.

9.1 0-60 (and thats a good day)... usually its like 9.5-10... and quarter miles in the high 16's to lower 17's.. thats nothing really to brag about.

get over it

so your telling me you can tell the difference between a 98 and 99 monte z34? or 97+ grand prix's? rims changed on the GP's, and the emblem, thats the only cosmetic difference, and the steering wheel later on. or a 2000 or 2002 monte carlo?

lots of cars look the same year to year

and a lightly modded 3400 wont beat a supercharged 3800. we need mods to beat a NA 3800

I never said I could beat a S/C3800, I said I could beat a N/A 3800, and so should your car. Most cars running the 3800 are heavy pigs with bad shift programming. It is not until you get something like DHP that a 3800 powered car can really open up.

A friend of mine with a 1998 GP GT (3800N/A) used to lose to me all the time at the track (close, but I would win). Once he installed the DHP, he took off roughly .4 seconds on his quarter mile times just by being able to shift at the actual redline.....I could no longer beat him after that.

Didn't take long for that comment to arrive in the conversation. :P j/k Ken, congrats again.

Just to back Mike up a little bit.....One thing's for sure: Judging by the timeslips he's posted with the ol' Eco ( R.I.P.), I sure wouldn't have wanted to line up next to it in a headsup run, that's for sure. People really don't give the Eco's enough credit. And if I had the cash, I'd certainly trade my ride in on a coupe in that dark grey color equiped with an Eco and a 5 speed. A tad cheaper to mod, and no LIMG leaks either. Not to mention fuel mileage, or the fact that the eco's probably last longer, too. B)

I shoulda bought an Eco. <_<

i wonder if the 3400 responds that well to a dhp...I really really want the powertuner software. as my next car will most likely be l67 powered, it makes since to get the software vs the reprogram. that and if you reprogram your own pcm you dont have to worry about case learn bs.

i do notice a good difference now that i have exhaust, part of that was i had a cai on there that wasn't really doing anything with stock exhaust, now the mods kind of compliment eachother.

the l67 comment was in reference to 1whiteosv's "kills"

I have a friend with a 3400 GA GT that is getting one this spring, and another guy has supercharged his 3400 Grand Am SE and we keep telling him to get some kind of programming software to take full advantage of the S/C.

I'll let you know what they think of the system once they install it.

Well for the ppl with Autos, 0 - 60 in 9 seconds is about right. However, if you have a 5 speed with either the 2.4 or 2.2 u can vastly improve those times.

For instance when I first got my car it averaged about 8.5 - 8.8, 0 - 60. And since I had it for a couple years my times improved due to me learning the car and when to shift. My best 0 - 60 with a CAI and my backseats out was 6.7 .
Average 0 - 60 is about 7.2 .
