crappy radio reception

does any1 think that an aftermarket will give u crappy radio reception....because the wires look goods to me and it may be time to replace the antenna itself on the back window.....(is that where it is)??

ya it could be the antenna in the back window. thats why mine doesnt work. whoever had the car before me messed up the antenna and defrosted lines in the back window and now i have to replace my whole window.

did the reception gone bad way after you installed your aftermarket radio, or was it bad the moment you put the new Head unit in?

Alero's have an antenna booster wire that you need to connect with the remote wire on your HU. Reception will be clear after that. I don't remember the color of the wire though.

There is a module just underneath the parcel shelf that the antenna wire runs through. If it goes bad, it takes the rear defrost with it too. Check for power to your rear defrost. It is all one module and not cheap.
