Grand Am seats are more comfortable.
Grand Prix seats are wider than Alero ones.

Why does everyone hate the stock seats? I'm 6'3" and 185lbs so I barely fit in an alero anyways, But I love the seats..

Go for it... If it's a GA that is.
I have the cloth ones and they're really comfortable. I've actually slept in my car numerous times, that's how comfortable they are.

Honestly though... id look into two things... used seats check craigslist and the other is your local tuner shop stores. They usually have some seats laying around.
Also do anyone have a harness bar in an alero?

nearly exact same size and exact same thoughts, my back is even screwy a decent part of the time but driving in my car feels just fine, and I have the seats without lumbar support

Grand Am seats are less comfortable than the Alero seats. At least the ones in the GT are. My parents own a 2004 Grand Am GT and the three of us have driven that car on road trips. We all said the same thing. Those are some uncomfortable seats to be in for any length of time.

Having had all available options (other than gt leather) i find it depends on what you want in a seat. The Alero has more comfy seats as it is designed for luxury where the grand am is more the performance brand of gm. Thus those seats are tighter and hold you in better especially takimg a quick corner! As long as your seats are in good condition meaning no broken springs or lopsided from previous owners either option is great! It's all personal preference

Personally, I feel all leather seats suck for comfort. I have the SE cloth seats, that's why I feel the way I feel. Now if they were leathers, then I'd join you and say they suck.
I don't know why, but leather seats seem to be really stiff compared to cloth ones. Used to ride around in a 01 Maxima with leathers before. Those seats were horrible.
They say the best seats were the Prelude seats. I wonder if we could fit those in our cars.

Theirs has the cloth GT seats and they're still some of the most uncomfortable seats to be in, but I know the SE seats are different than the GT seats. That's why I said at least the ones in the GT are.
