Dash Cap Color

Fellas, I recently purchased a Coverlay dash cap from JC Whitney. I went with the dark grey option, but when I recieved it and installed it for dry fit, I found the color is a bit darker than the factory color on the dash, making it look sloppy. They also have a medium grey option on there site .
My question is, before I return the one I have to swap it for medium grey,
has anyone purchased a dash cap for a pewter interior Alero and was the medium grey more of a match than the dark grey color.
I know my other option is to paint it, but I'm having the same problem matching the color at my local auto and paint shops.
Ill post photos of the dash as soon as i get to my lap top. In the mean time, I have photos of the interior on the Showcase forum under "Just bought an Alero" from 7-22-13.
Thanks in advance

The color isn't perfect... also remember your interior color has faded from the sun and use. Both ion and reddog have dash caps and theirs is also a missmatched color

Here are some pics. The cap is a hair darker than the factory dash. It's mostly noticable on the lower portion near the ignition and between the radio and glove box.

That dash cap looks OK to me, but I wonder why hey do nothing for the air bag?

Another picture taken while you are sitting in the back seat would be nice as well.

Anyone here successfully reglue theirs back down? I am looking for some pics I saw where someone did it (I think on a Grand Am) and if I can find them I will repost them here.

Thanks Sleepy, I found the thread of Reddog's dash cap after you suggested using a dash cap. His looked like it color matched a little closer than mine. I bought some SEM paint yesterday in Dark Grey Pewter and Slate. And those colors were lighter in contrast. I will probably end up staying with this one. I think it's gonna be as close as I get to the original dash color.
Zzyzzx, I plan on peeling back the skin on the airbag compartment and using 3M spray adhesive to tac it back down and smooth it. The edges are all ready coming up and since it's a small area and not stretched accross the dash, I think it should work.
