Led backlit headlights....

This is just a "what if" kinda thread. I only want to do this if i can get a good representation of what its going to look like. if its crap, then forget it.

and this would NOT be done while the headlights are on.

but i've been thinking how i'd look to put a led (or 2 in the bigger spots) in the behind the headlight lens, pointing back toward the reflector.

i know its been done before, and if someone reads this who knows, or knows where to find a pic, please post it.

but any other lighting guys want to add their input.... i've noticed there are a few guys now that do work similar to my own...

^thats what i'm talking about.

how do you think you could seal it though. i think drilling a small hole on an angle pointing back toward the reflector would be easy. but just a small spot of silicon to seal it?

and which of the 4 lights of ours? i guess you could do the second from the center, to look like "eyes", all 4 to look like "kit from nightrider", or setup a small circuit to kinda light them all at different times....

think 1 led would work, or would you need 2 per light?

meh......looks ok, but i would only put a certain lighting on my car only if i can drive with them on (with the exception of my underglow) so i wouldnt really like that to much.....i was thinking about the lighting around the gap of the headlights...duh, i guess it would be good to actualy read the entire post b4 replying lol

Search for headlight accents on google and you'll find these.

As for sealing it:

I put some red ones in the set of projectors i made....looked sweet, but they were mounted in the assembly before it was put back together, so didnt have to drill any holes in anything.

for the life of me i cant find any pics tho.

i'd suggest doing it WHILE you clear your corners. you'll already have it all torn apart. AND you have everything you need already out. (except a soldering iron, and a drill)
