smoking headlights

OK, so I'm looking for opinions...I've seen the smoked headlight covers, but I'm wondering what you guys would think about just smoking the marker and turn signal sections and leaving the headlights unsmoked...opinions!

Buy a 2nd pair, use the clear pair for night time driving, and the dark pair for day time. Or you could just buy the covers but in my opinion they look to fake and dark

Did you really just suggest swapping different pairs of headlights for night time and day time driving??

Brad, I think you should do something different and just smoke the corners. leave the amber piece in but throw some niteshades over it

yes, lol i didnt think about it in terms of living in Michigan lol. Sorry. In alaska it doesnt get dark until about 12-2 AM so you would rarely be driving at night.

I personally don't even like the look of cleared corners, but I understand that most of you do. Even more so, I think the look of a tinted headlight is terrible. I would just leave it cleared.

Yeah I hate dark headlights too. Taking something that's made to be bright and shining and making it dark and dull. Kills the look of the car. It'd be like dying your tires white. They're supposed to be black.

Then you must be doing something wrong because I use them and they have not caused scratches in my bumper. You must be very rough when putting yours on and taking off.

Well I'm not talking about tinting the headlights, just the side marker and turn signals...

Yeah, I hate when people do their whole headlights... drives me nuts.

Even so, I think just leave em cleared, kind of defeats the purpose of clearing the corners if you just tint them.

You could just get some of that tint and try it out, instead of painting them, then if you dont like it, remove it.

why not just clear your corners and paint your headlight bezel black?
tinting headlights look stupid

I like the idea of tinting the blinker and side marker, BUT, you'll have to do it from inside the lens if you want it to last. For two reasons, you're headlights in all likelihood have hundreds of tiny chips in them from rocks, sand, and particularly hard bugs. None of these are visible, but they hold oil and will cause fish eye in the tint (I tried this all ready). Also, the tint you put on will just get bunches of chips in it from road debris even if you successfully put it on the outside anyway.

I would say, if you still have the amber pieces somewhere, tint em with VHT and put em back in, otherwise just smoke the corners with VHT. it'll be different
