Just Hmmm
Before I start this question, I did not find any thread that would really help with my issue. My car seems to have a little bit of a rough idle when sitting at a stop light. When I press the accelerator, the engine comes to life! No loss of power at all! While accelerating, when she gets to about 3k RPMs it stumbles, or chugges. It doesn't happen all the time, just intermittently. There is no SES light on. So I really don't know. Plugs and wires were replaced 30k miles ago. Its been a couple of years since I did a fuel filter. I only use mid-grade fuel. I really have no idea here. It's not anything that is really hurting anything, nor is it hurting mileage, just annoying. Anyone ever had this issue, if so, what did u do to fix it? Thanks!

Fuel filter since it's been a while, but it really does sound like a vacuum leak.
If you have the V6, check the port on the top right side on the manifold. The factory rubber cap tears and rots away

Just as a note - it's hidden under the throttle cable bracket.
One or two bolts, that'll swing over so you can see it.
It comes with the PCV valve hose set, and last I bought (last year about this time) was about $8 IIRC. Cheap IMO.

Not the cap I'm talking about. It's next to the alternator. It's the only vacuum cap I can think of on the manifold

I would also be looking for vacuum leaks. Personally I use a Mityvac to check for leaks, unless they are obvious.

I bought mine in the early to mid 80's and it still works just fine. It was also made in USA back them. The new ones are made in China, so feel free to get the cheaper alternative at Harbor Freight.
