odometer

my odometer and gear indicator light (the light that lights up next to P R N D 3 2 1) blink rapidly when i press down on the accelerator.
the more i floor it, the more rapidly they blink.
i TOUCH the brake pedal, they quit blinking until i let off, then start blinking.

how do i fix this?

Loose connection? Try wiggling wires and connectors.

do you have aftermarket gauges? if so, check the connection on the ground. (all those connections, for that matter.)

That's the thing, I have stock gauges, ive never had the gauges out of the car. Could I have put a fuse that is too large in?

The amp rating of the fuse will not cause flickering lights.

Do they only do it in daylight (bright) mode, or also in night (dimmed) mode?

it does it whether or not the headlights are on.
is there a chance the plug or ground could have become loose?
how do i get to the ground for the gauges to check?
is there a write up on how to remove the gauges so that i can check the plug/ ground?
