Won't start????

Wasn't sure if I should post this here or in the 3400 section so went with both. My baby is starting to become a nightmare of a black hole all of a sudden. Everything's fine and without any warning, it won't start. Turns over fine, checked for spark at the spark plug and plenty of that. Any ideas as to what to check first from a fuel standpoint? Anybody ever had this happen to them before? Hope its not the fuel pump. Don't guess a throttle body engine will vapor lock will they? It was parked all day on a slight incline with the nose pointed up and was pretty hot today if that makes any difference. I have in the past noticed it having a slight problem starting when it has been pointed uphill. Hmmmm.....any suggestions? Thanks guys.

P.S. When I turn the key on I can hear the fuel pump run until it pressurizes or whatever it does.

Any lights or anything like that?

I had this issue and it was the fuel pump. I heard it, but it needed some....

Persuasion.

(A Few taps on the gas tank with the tire iron while turning the key.) Haven't had a problem since.

One good way I found out my fuel pump went out in my old car is I parked it uphill and left for 15 min, tried to start nothing...it spuddered. Then parked it downhill and noticed the engine flooded.

Good Luck!

It actually only had like a quarter of a tank of gas and I guess the pick up is in front of the tank. When I rolled it onto flatter ground and cranked on it awhile, it starter. Shew! Thanks guys for the ideas.
