First off bro its the easiest thing to do once you understand how it works. You will need a few tools to manage your success in the custom fiberglass tools. Heres what I have done at my best using fiberglass. A Custom tailight design. You will need a good circular sander, fiberglass aswell, dust masks cause you need to sand and smooth out the surface where you will add fiberglass and after you add it you will also need to sand and smooth it.

fiberglass will stick to the carpet. U cant remove the carpet. its molded on. Whoever told u it doesn't stick to carpet is wrong. Your looking at alot of work and at least 300 bucks in material mininum. even more if u don't have the air tools or electric sanders. You can not sand fiberglass by hand.

First off look in your trunk I havent inspected this but look in the trunk and see if u can see the current two speakers. If so is there any metal in the way to add another two to the group. And if so then you have bigger probs than the carpet. And as for the carpet look around the edges for snaps and for a better look put down the back seat and u can see where the carpet starts and go from there

Your right fiberglass does stick to carpet once it dries, I just finished working on a Mustang Bodykit and I still got fiberglass on my f**kn fingers, I used gas to take some of it off

You technically don't have to remove the carpet on the rear deck to fiberglass it (it will use a lot more resign if you don't) but it would probably be the best to take it off. You can use an angle grinder to remove the carpet, but go very slow and take your time, you don't want to eat into the plastic shell just lightly touch it enough to take off just carpet.

Hey, how's it going... http://www.aleromod.com/forums/showt...t=16740&page=5
Look halfway down the page... maybe this is what you're looking for?
Okay, fiberglass over the carpet, maybe not such a hot idea as you may get ripples... only because the carpet may be pressed down in some areas, and remain higher up in other places.
Removing the carpet? Get a power grinder... just look at the link.
Prior to my fiberglassing, I took some 100 Grit sand paper, roughed it up enough so that the hardener and fibers would have something to bond to. It's the edges you need to worry about. In those areas, if you're still concerned as to how much it will stick, and you didn't wrap it over, just run a thin line of THICK super glue, and smooth it out.
There's a couple other parts that are fiberglassed in that thread, using the same ideas.
Hope this helps...

The reason I used what I did, is because that Parcel Deck isn't completely flat. The round disc allows for getting into the 'not so hard, but hard enough' places. And easy to switch between discs as well to smooth things out.
