new 02 sensor

so my car is coming up with a 02 low voltage code. my wideband tells me my car is running constantly lean, but somtimes jumps to rich, and sometimes it jumps back and forth from lean to rich. not a constant number like before.

so i think it needs a new sensor.

now gm's sensors are really expensive.
i found this
http://cgi.ebay.ca/2003-OLDSMOBILE-A...item2560a404f2

is that the right one? any one buy this brand name? or should i just bite the bullet and get a gm one?

or maybe ngk. i've always had good luck with them

any help would be appreciated

OEM for sure... but my question is are you doing it yourself if having a shop do it.

That's weird that your wideband reads a constant number... they should go from lean to rich to lean to rich etc...

Unless widebands act differently from normal O2 sensors??

it does that sometimes, but normally it just reads lean at the moment. it used to read properly when the 02 sensor was working

How many miles are on the car?

I don't trust O2 sensors past 100,000 miles. On a car with two of them I replace both.

I've always used Bosch replacement sensors and haven't had a problem with them yet. Besides that, O2 sensors are something that you should buy online. Your local auto parts store charges too much for them and even with shipping it's cheaper to buy them at Rock Auto or Amazon, or whomever sells them cheap. I just looked at Rock Auto and I really don't think that they are that expensive even if you get the Delco ones.

Do both sensors have 50K miles on them or just one? And what brand is it?
I wouldn't trust a no-name brand part, etc.

I would get an ac delco for pretty much any sensor, especially O2 sensors.
