i had that problem once and i think i may have asked or read it somewhere and someone said something about how it can get bad where your car wont start for like 10 minutes because it thinks your trying to start it with a fake key and shuts down for security purposes. Only happened to me like 3 times with only the light and they were like months apart. Dont take this info 100% though because im just trying to remember.

your ignition is probably going bad. the solenoid or cylinder or what have you went bad on mine causing the light problem. cost like 250 to fix it i remember correctly.

My light comes on every now and then. On mine, it will just click off by itself.

Buy a new key, it's loose inside the cyl.
Also, get a break away key chain and have the alero key on it's own ring. I've been doing that for a while now and it really works to your advantange

PAsslock don't like a lot of weight on the key I've heard (I.e. lots of keychains), maybe has something to do with it.

This happened to me about 5 years ago while driving my 1994 LSS 88 (that is Delta 88 for you younger guys). It was just that I used that key so dam much that I wore it out. Had it replaced at dealer to the tune of $20 per key and NO MO problems.

i like to think that the stealership didnt rip me off on that new ignition because i still use the old key and its fine, but its certainly a last resort.
