Talking 3400t?

I was thinking, turbocharging my V6 Alero. Im wondering if any one has tried this, thought of this, or just have any opinions, good idea/bad idea?

yea its a great idea. great ideas dont come cheap though, so those light in the pockets need not apply. you cant really just bolt up a turbo and be good to go. do some research. im sure if your search "turbo" on this forum you will find some decent info.

regardless of what car you have...even if you build your own kit, your still looking at $2500-$3000 after a proper tune (which in my opinion means finding a reputable tuning shop with a dyno, go ahead and pay the money so that way you can not only get it tuned right, but also find out what kinda horsepower your putting out at the wheels)

well of course not...reputable tune shops are too expensive to build just anywhere, gotta have space and all for the dyno unless you run it out of your own garage or something....and im sure theres tons of places within an hour or so that can tune, but the key is reputable and reliable (in case something goes wrong with the tune, you know you can rely on them to get it corrected instead of having to deal with lots of BS)

which is why when i get my sc300 project in the spring completed, im prolly gonna make a 5-6 hour trip to michigan to a very reputable place that has all the proper equipment, you cant let this part be a budget issue, or you just wasted a load of cash for nothing

my advice more so than anything is do your homework and spend lots of hours researching and learning about what you wanna do to your engine and everything, because knowing the engine and what your gonna do to it can save lots of money down the road, both in building custom kits, and on labor for maintenance issues, and helps in the tuning process so theres no second guessing
