My Alero - Will Be Continuously Updated

So here's my Alero so far:

http://s10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...20Alero%20GLS/

2001 Alero GLS Coupe (black, 3400)

What has been done:

Replaced Box Filter with a WAI/SRI (I know, it's not green YET...and that's the jankiest way to hold that shit up off the fender, but it hasn't fallen off yet )

5 Tinted Windows (driver, passenger, 2 small back windows, and back windshield) - 15% Llumar tint

LED Steering Wheel Cover - Carbon Weave with Green LEDs (Toxin, you can see the pictures of the cover itself along with where the battery pack sits)

Replaced Glove Box Light with 1Watt LED - Cool White

Replaced Trunk Light with Festoon LED - Cool White

Replaced Map Lights with LEDs (the one on the passenger side is a 1Watt LED, the other is a smaller wattage bulb, but the other 1Watt is coming in soon, so that will be replaced again) - Green

Replaced Dome Light with Festoon LED - Green

To Come:

AAS Body Kit (sanding and painting that myself...and eff it's a pain in the ass of a long process)

JKL GTR type-C spoiler with LED third (well...fourth for me) taillight (same process as Body Kit)

Wize DTM type Dual Tip Performance Muffler - Chromed?/Polished? (I'm not sure...it shines, lol - haven't received it yet)

Footwell Lighting with LED strips from Oznium - Green

Underbody LED kit - Green

Lining some part of my interior with Neon Stringlights - Green

Paint Brake Calipers (and possibly engine) - Green (engine may end up being black with green lettering on the 3400)

Rear Instrument Lights replaced with LED Twist Lock lights - Green

Replace light in the under-console area (the light that lights the area in front of the change holder) with that Green LED I have in the driver side Map Light at the moment (by the way, does anyone know how to remove this light?...do I have to pull off the whole front console/head unit to get to it?).

Random Decals, etc.

And finally...a little showcar surprise .

Oh...and of course a thorough wash, detail, and wax.

Future Plans:

Rims and Tires (18's with spacers if necessary to have wheels flush with the kit)

Wheel Well Underglow

Replace my rear speakers and get a good head unit with 12v converter and wire harness (my cousin blew the bass on the rear speakers)

After all of that is said and done, then I'll start on performance parts if I wish to keep putting money into it (rebuilding the engine, trans, etc etc)

I'll let you guys know when more photos are available (meaning when I do more stuff to my Alero), but so far, that's what I got today.

I'm a little confused at which light you're asking about, but if it's still the one up under the little pit part of the console, you just pry up around the shift area plastic, pry the upper console plastic piece loose, lean it back toward you, and twist the light half a turn and out under the HVAC knobs. Nothing but the plastic needs to be taken out of place.

My bad guys, it should work now. Let me know if it still doesn't.

I don't want one, my new spoiler just came with one on it (even though I didn't order it with one, they gave me it anyway at no extra cost). So I'm probably going to keep both brake lights except on the original third brake light, I'll put the aleromod.com brake light decal over it.

I'm not doing random decals, the only ones I'm doing are the aleromod across the windshield and brake light, and maybe another windshield one.

Toxin, that's exactly what I thought I had to do, thanks for the info.

Also, another question for everyone...would the car ride too low if I were to get a drop (with Eibach springs) along with putting on the AAS body kit? I know I'm going to have to offset the rims and/or get an offset when I eventually get new ones for it to look good with the kit, but that's my main question.

That's for the LED glowing wheel cover he mentioned.

Looks pretty bright in there, but I can't really tell the wheel cover is glowing..

Judging by the wierd ass camera angle, I'm guessing it's there because you can't see it. If it were attached anywhere else the wires would just pull and twist when you turn the wheel..

If you connected it to a dash light, it would get tangled in the steering column. That is literally the best way to do it, and it's barely noticeable unless you're like giving me road head or something...

Toxin, as far as how bright it is, it's pretty decent for as small of lights that show on the steering wheel (it's a string of lights inside the cover with a carbon weave coating that molds to the steering wheel, as shown), and when you drive at night, turning looks SOOO cool. But yeah, it really only shows up effectively at night, but I think it was definitely worth the $35 (about with shipping and such) that I paid for it.

Psyfox, how audible is your WAI? Is it a pretty constant or can you only hear it when you punch it? Did you notice any improvements in performance?

Lookin' good.

Lookin' good.

I can hear my WAI when RPM's kick over 3k (even on constant acceleration). So basically any time I accelerate a little faster than normal, when I punch it, or if I ride out a gear (particularly 1st, sometimes up to about 6k RPMs). Also, I do notice a small change in HP as opposed to when I had ye' ol' box in there. The only thing I wish was different about it was that I could find a silicon tube and cone filter in a green color rather than a blue.

So if anyone knows where I could pick up a small green silicon tube/has one, let me know (I've seen the filter before, but if you have one of those in green too then let me know).

Hopefully there will be more aggressive sounds when my muffler gets in (call me a riceboy if you want :P), lol.

And thanks again.

Footwell lights done. Took about 2.5 hours because I had trouble pulling off the console and such, but it was so worth it. I'll have pictures soon.

I don't see that battery pack getting in the way at all...that would be a nice place for a kill switch or something...Keep it up. May want to steam clean the engine bay though!
