peeling dash

I have a 2000 alero and the dash started peeling while still under the warrenty but the dealer and olds refused to make repairs.

How can i remove the skinnie panel by the windshield to stretch back the dash pleather and re glue it in place,( i sure don't wanna mess with removing the whole dash )

also what is the best glue to use for this.

You can glue it, but it won't look the same as it did before it started peeling and it will peel again. It's also a real PIA to do

Call around to glass / trim shops. I got mine fixed for $100. They do a lot of them, and they guarantee their work. They have to take out the windsheild then peel it all back and re-glue it. They won't touch it if you attempt it on your own though.

My warranty was 3 yrs / 36k miles. Dash didn't peel 'till close to 6 years and 100k miles.

I had the 5 year warrenty and everything in the dash was covered except the actual dash.
gauges etc.. but NOT the pleather.

I'm not sure it's worth it to me to take it to a upholstery shop and have done, I would like to try it myself first, it would be better than the glare of it peeled up in the dash glass like now.

whats the best glue to try to get it to stick down fast.

I used a fabric glue. You don't want to get anything too harsh and you want to get it way up there and smooth it out with some kind of straight edge that won't harm the leather.

Glue is glue. I bought mine at Walmart for $0.88 in the art section
