RR Defog

While searching for blown lighting fuses, something presented itself to me: in the 2004 3.4 fuse number 33 which is a 30A is titled "RR Defog" mine is gone. Does my common sense interpret correctly that this fuse links to the rear defrost?

My rear defrost has not worked in a long time. I was planning to tear everything apart with the how to in due time, but if this is the fix I need than it will be much easier. I don't remember removing the fuse...I know my defrost worked at one point...we will see.

I do recall the rear defogger being a 30A fuse... I'm pretty sure that is in fact the one.. I think the little LED for the defogger on the climate control won't even come on if that fuse is blown/missing when you press the button. Try replacing thr fuse and check if it works. If not, redog has a really good tutorial on how to replace the actual defogger module.. It's not too hard, I did it a while back.. I got one from a junkyard 2 years ago and it hasn't failed me since then.

That's the plan. What's crazy is the led has been coming on...it just stopped defrosting. We shall see. It's summer now so I won't have to worry about it for a while.

I could be wrong on that... I fixed the rear defogger back in 2010 so it's been a while. What I'd expect is for the LED to not light up when the defogger is pressed which would indicate that there is something wrong with the circuit such as a blown fuse. In any case, it's common for the defogger module to crap out... When I pulled my defogger module out, the green wire going to it completely melted off.
