yeah dobbie may not be a farmer or work in the fields but what meant was what happens in the winter months, when farmers cant grow much out of their lands. During those winter months the local economy of those small agricultural towns may or may not see an affected by the lack of produce. its fine inquiring, sorry for being snippy.

farmers that grow crop over the summer, usually have cattle or other livestock too. around here oil is big, so alot of truckers haul oil around

were dobbie is at its not a farming area its just such a small place that there aren't much jobs and what is out there it has already been taken by people who have been at that place since it started

"Field of work" or "field of study", not a real field. Personally I work in IT field, for Avaya formally Nortel, supporting a telecommunication product called SCS (Software Communication System).
