After about 50,000 miles and a half-dozen or so track days, my Performance Friction rear pads were pretty well shot. Not only was I about to hit the warning tabs, but the backing plates were well-rusted (Midwest winters didn't help). So, I did some research and found that Aleros with rear discs use the same brake pad as a 1997-2003 Pontiac Grand Prix. I have friends that have nothing but good things to say about Hawk pads, so I figured I'd give them a whirl.
Even though they are listed for a Grand Prix, they fit the Alero caliper and bracket perfectly without modification. They are very quiet with minimal dusting, and will take the heat of "spirited" driving better than stock pads. Incidentally, I am using the Hawks with factory rear rotors. They are slightly more expensive than PFCM pads; I paid $45.00US for the set from the Tire Rack. I recommend these.

No, they are different. The best pad I've used with stock front calipers is a 9-1-1 Extreme Performance pad from PowerStop Brakes.

I looked into the 911, and they state that the pad material is harder and designed to be used with their rotors. Did u change the rotors or are they still stock. Looked on your sig like you have the slotted. Need to get new pads, may upg rotors.

At the time (when I still had stock calipers and stock-sized rotors), I was using aftermarket (I forget the brand; it's been years) slotted brake rotors. Plain rotors will work fine though. If your stockers are shot, I recommend Raybestos replacement front rotors.
