alerored04 is an unknown quantity at this point
I know the new part from the dealer requires swapping over the reservoir, which is not hard at all, as well as the variable effort valve, if your car is equipped with it, which is a little more difficult and requires either a bench vise or an impact with a monstrous deepwell socket. I don't remember the exact size. Other than that it is pretty simple. Remove the serp belt, remove the three bolts for the ps pump, undo the lines, remove pump. Swap parts over, reassemble. Took me around 3 hours including fighting the ves valve.

You still have to deal with the variable effort stuff if you have it on your car. But having the pre-installed reservoir does make it easier. You also need to swap the pulley. Many parts stores will have the power steering pulley puller/installer as a loaner tool.
