Some questions about Audio--barely NSFW

Blah ... I only got $300 from the tax refund I was expecting $600. Limits my options alot now :<(. I did look at the SS's online for 78 bucks. I could do that price wise and be ok. I assume a better speaker like the SS's would sound at least as good as the stock even if under powered?
Replacing all the speakers and adding an amp + rewiring it all would probably be out of my price range atm. Wish I could put a volume lock on the HeadUnit so I don't turn it up past halfway LOFL> :<).

The infinity speakers I have (693.7i and 60.7CS if i remember right) have separate connections for the tweeters and woofers, and are also 2 ohm.
