Okay, when my car is generally cold/cool when I start it up and start to go as I press the gas I hear a squeeling noise. It seems to be directly effected by the throttle because if I let off, it stops and if I get on it..i hear it so...idk. I have been told that it's just the air passing through my throttle body but IDK because it hasnt done this before (started about a month ago and been doin it since) I havnt had like any PROBLEMS with the car not running smooth but its just annoying because say I am taking off at a light or something its just like "EEEEEEEEEERRR!!!!" and loud <_< but the noise does eventually stop as the motor warms up so i dont know wtf it is. If ANYONE has had a similar problem or might know what it is..feel free to let me know! It could also be compared to maybe a REALLY high pitched whistle that is like unbearable lol.
Yup, bad belt. When they slip, they make a squealing sound like that. And when the engine warms up, the belt expands slightly (from the temp change) thus making it stop, for now. As the belt continues to wear, it will do it more and more often.
I really do not think it's the belt because it's comming from the driver's side of the engine compartment and the belt is on the passenger side...are there ANY other possibilities??
