Floor light question

Are they just 194's? Without pulling it out, it appears like a 194, but I'm not sure. Any clarification?

Also, am I able to just pull them out without removing the dash?

Thank you.

not to bring up this old post for no reason....BUT, Where the h*** are the stock floor lamps in my 2001 GL? I don't see any light on the floor and no holes in the black plastic cladding for a 194 to shine through and I don't remember if I ever had lamps on the floor or not.

Not all aleros came with the courtesy footwell lighting. I created my own with some led bars from oznium and spliced into the dome light. Works beautifully

Where is the quickest place to splice into the dome light? I assume it would be behind the A piller where my gauge pod is right?

Actually the best place to splice would be behind the moulding where the hood release is. There is a main splice pack for most of the wiring in the car. I don't remember the colors, but I can check later once I can look at a wiring diagram.

There are three wires running from the dome light. Orange, White and Black. Orange and white are the ones you need to splice into. Orange is positive and white is negative. Normally you would ground to black, but in this case the white runs to the dimmer switch, which controls the interior lighting. I have mine ran this way so the floor lights only turn on when the dome light either turns on automatically because the door is open, or bc I switched the dome light on. I also have LED strips under my door spliced into this wiring to light the ground when my doors are open.
