Well its finally time to lower the alero. My plan was to get the sprint/ST springs and since I have about 80,000 mi on the car I was gonna do the struts too. I thought about the ST spring and strut package but I was wondering if the struts are good quality or should I go with the KYBs. And is there another place to order the ST package other than ebay because thats the only place I have seen it and its not always there. Thanks.

it all depends on the amount of the ride drop you want....if you want 2.25 inch drop then go with the Spring Tech Springs, if you want 2" or less go with the Eibachs....id say that u would be fine to stay with stock struts, but if you want to upgrade go with the KYB GR2 Gas struts....check the alero upgrades section on the home page for links

Off topic...is that Terre Haute Indiana?

You will definitely want to change the struts when you do the springs. Mine were completely shot at around 55,000 miles with ST springs.

I have the ST/KYB combo and I love it, but I haven't heard any complaints about the ST struts either.

Well I ordered the sprint springs from suspensionmax. They were the ones for a grand am but from what I read these do offer the same drop and are pretty much the same as alero springs right?

That's correct. ( As long as you purchased GA springs meant for the 99-04 GA ) Nice buy man, you won't regret'm. Trust me, you'll LOVE the way you're ride will handle and look, but let me be the 1st to warn you: the ride's gonna be ALOT more harsh than you're used-to. but hey, that's the price we pay for looking better than the 4x4 Aleros

My Alero is now lowered on the spring tech springs, install took about 2 and a half hours. But now I have a problem. On the two front springs, when sitting at idle, if I turn the wheel one way I hear a thump, then back stright it sounds like the spring is either twisting or is like popping sort of I dunno, its really weird, I checked to make sure everything was mounted right and eveyrthing is in the track like they are suppose to be on both top and bottom mounts, anyone had this problem before? :shout:

I had the same problem too. Its just due to the springs settling. It'll eventually go away by itself

it's just the spring seating itself on the mount. it's not a problem. it will go away. to make it go away quicker, jack your car up, then turn the wheel completely in both directions. this will seat the springs properly.
