System Decison
Hey Everybody Im new to the site and I have been looking through everything and I want to get some help with my car system. I have been to random car audio sites but I would rather get some advice from alero owners on what to do. So heres the deal.
I have a 1999 Olds Gls 6 cylinder
It has 186,000 on it
So heres my idea for a system
I know the front speakers are 4X6 and the rear are 6X9 and two tweeters in the front.
For the front door speakers im looking at getting the 5.25 speakers from either kicker or getting the kappas from infinity.
Im going to keep the 6X9's in the rear and im going to go with Kicker or kappas from Infinity.
For the tweeters its either going to be infinity or kicker.
For the inside speakers im leaning towards infinity because they sound real crisp to me and the kickers just have some bass.
For the deck im leaning toward the alpine CDA-105.
Im putting Kickers in the trunk.
Either 1 12" L5 or 1 12" CVX
Im going to get a 750 watt amp from kicker and alpine mini stereo amp for the speakers
Im getting dynamat for the whole trunk.
Does anyone think this will sound good in a Alero or should I upgrade to bigger subs. Or which speakers should I go with.
Also I need suggestions for some headlights and some other good accessories and where to get them from.
All help is appreciated.

wait for ryanfromohio to chime in. hes the local audio dealer, and he knows his stuff well.... and gives decent prices on better equipment you've probably never heard of.
bypass dynamat though. get secondskin. its a hundred times better.

dont waste your money on nice expensive interior speakers if your not going to get a decent 1000w/4 amp

If you are using coaxials dont use tweeters in the sails. If you want to do tweeters in the sails get some components.
Subs and sub quantities all depend son your budget and your goal.

and 2 12" kicker cvr's connected to a 1000w alpine amp.
subs hit super hard, and always have lots of bass. but sometimes i wish i would of went with 2 tens

I have some infinity kappa 6x9's for the rears. they sound nice!! I also have an Alpine CDA-9886. It has a lot of features and controls. Definitely an awesome headunit.

don't waste your time or money on really good 6x9s. spend more on the fronts and you'll be more pleased.

Thats one of the things that I dont want with my audio system, I dont want that bass that you sometimes hear in other peoples cars and thier trunk are rattling and it sounds so horrible. I want a nice sounding bass to compliment my audio.
As far as my inside speakers I want some good front and rear speakers and if need be I will get a kicker 4 channel for the inside as well.

i wouldnt spend that much money on sound deadening if i were you.the two parts of our car that rattles the most are where the trunk lid meets the window (fixed by putting weather stripping on all the contact points on the trunk lid) and above the liscense plate where the plastic meets the metal. that spot makes the most rattle but its easily fixed by a single long piece of 3m VHB tape. put one strip on and its never rattled since. all other rattles can be fixed by putting silicone at rattle points of even stuffing paper towels between points
check out caraudioclassifieds if you want to get some insane sub equipment for the mad cheap. they have amps/speakers as well. i wouldnt put more then 1000rms on your car unless you plan on upgrading the battery/alternator.

caraudioclassified Nazi forum- no thanks. What did that guy tell me... he gave me shit about the picture deal. yet he posts adds without pictures. Then tells me he can as he has 40+ positive feedbacks on E bay... ROFL.
I disagree with Matt. The Alero is a loud car- lots of interior noises from the road. I did two layers of mat under the rear seat, one layer everywhere else. Made a HUGE difference. I do agree with the problem areas he outline though. Those are common issues.

its worked for me. my car stays 100% rattle free for about a week or two before a new rattle shows up. every one fixed with silicon or weatherstripping. as far as panel on panel rattles . as for blocking out road noise under the back seats works great
some people do get burned on car audio classifieds but it happens. if it happened all the time it would get shut down
