I've done a few things, just depends on how far you want to go.

Easy: Run from the battery, up the side and run it along the fender back to the door zip tying as you go. Then send it down and around the pillar and into the car making sure the door wont pinch it when it closes. You lift up the carpet/floor trim and run the wire underneath it all the way to the rear seat, then under the seat and into the trunk.

moderate, drill a hole next to your body harness going in. Be carefull not to hit important things. put in a rubber grommet (dont be cheap and use silicone) and run as before or as the latter suggests. Use a grommet for sure as not to ground out from wear through.

Difficult but best. Run the wire back and to the middle, or so, of the firewall just right of the throttle location. CHECK BEFORE DRILLING as i haven't tried it on an alero per say. Install your grommet. Lift up your seats, center console and all and run the wire across the floor and out the back to the trunk. This evades all higher power electricals and has less likelyhood to peeve your other systems. Not all cars get feedback, but some will from high power cable going by others.

I have on some cars been able to run the cable up near where the shifter runs without drilling.

Reworded for accuracy.

just after the herrington/smurf simultaneous facepalm, when looking at adria's stereo.

I saw the fender power wire and almost seized. I figured if i was going to re-run it... then I should take a video for future site use.

Yes that can happen if you let the door pinch the wire as i said to watch for. I've seen plenty of cars take this "easy" way out without any issue. You just cant be an effing moron and pinch it, and then let it go for so long that you wear it out and ground it.

You'll need a fuse in that wire as near the battery as possible.

why the eff would u put it through the door it takes not even 5 minutes to put it through the grommet. what I did was fold out a coat hanger stick it through the hole were the grommet is and tape the end of the power wire that is going to the trunk and pull it through. it is very simple.

Depends on the thickness of the wire there sunshine. Haha, try pulling 1/0 through there on a hanger. Regardless, do it right, ask questions, do not catch your car on fire.

Fair enough, I did as well, but the coat hanger idea is sort of a pain going by that. (1/0) Then again, by that time the wire size is big enough to work with that you can just push it through...
