New setup in the works

Going back a few years next install.

SoundStream SPL170 sub (15" top of the line, 1997ish)

SoundStream Reference 500, 300 and 160s Again top of the line SoundStream from its day. The amps are built so ahead of time they will rival anything in its power class currently...

JVC KD-AVX11 head unit of course.

Working on comps and EQ'ing right now...

I doubt you could tell a difference between either with your eyes closed.

Talking about comps I take it?

What size did you install?

jabartram took my advice and sealed the speaker in a fairly unique fashion. Im quite impressed actually.

With door speakers its imperative to keep the waves separated. He mounted his mids right to the door panel... Problem solved. Looks to have worked AWESOME also!

Those amps were produced at a time when you paid well over $1/watt RMS. Also during their production they were ultra high end. Even by todays standards these amps are on the high end of the spectrum as far as quality goes.

I love them. They just need to be blasted and powder coated. Which Im thinking about.

speaking of American made, does anybody have a list of American made car audio stuff? Nothing in too much detail just an off the top of the head list or something. I know Rockford and MTX, but after that I draw a blank. I know a lot of people will trash Rockford, but as they are a local company and I like to support the local guy I tend to buy their stuff. I'd do a whole Rockford system if they didn't stop making after market head units, and personally I've never had a problem with them

Yeah if they were blasted and chromed or PCed then they would look nice. If PCed I would flat black em.

If I powder coat them I will probably do something much nicer than flat black.

First things first I need to test them all out.

Kicker is not made in stillwater, oklahoma. That is where they are from. And design and test everything. The headquarters. Everything and/or most of the item is made in china or tawain. (how do I know?, my friend was sponsored by them last year, and we got all the boxes still. BIG stamp on the side of the brown box saying made in china. but it dont stay on the amp or subwoofer box itself. Just on the brown shipping box w/ the model numbers. LOL) Maybe they got some stuff still made in america but I doubt it nowadays.

Most other countries will re-produce any item at 1/4 the cost. (we ..America.. want too much money to do anything. That is how this economy is so messed up.) No one is producing anything in the country no more. It is all outsourced for cheaper labor rates. Which leads to why bodykit.org is selling the OSV kit for 1500. That is america's labor pricing. I know some people oversea's who can reproduce the kit for 150 bucks total, then anyone can resell it and mark up the kit up to 400 bucks. people in china for example makes like 1 US Dollar an hour. which is why stuff is reproduced cheaper. LOL

We are their logistics provider. I have their account in my A/R. I have spoke with Jay Ralston. I know its a mixed bag of import and domestic. They have to give details on every order domestic or import. Imports can have a made in china on them based on an "assist" which is work done here and then added to there and reimported. Design and Engineering is done in US. Manufacturing is outsourced. Idea and Design came from US

http://newsok.com/made-in-oklahoma-s...rticle/3268132

I can tell you why we don't use China's complete manufacturing too. Their machines are dated so badly that if you send pigment over there to make paint. The quality is considered sub par compared to keeping the pigment and making the paint here. We use their assemnly because of oh so many tiny hands and lots o people.

You are correct! they're technology is WAY outdated. They copy items by plaster molds. While we have laser scanning machines to scan items in for specs. I was going to have some alero parts mass reproduced for everyone, but the thing was I would have to order a large sum of items. (pay out of pocket as well, and will not prolly sell 1/4 of them). Since its comes in a big container, it would be stupid to waste a container sent over w/ just 100 items of, for example, alero larger front and rear swaybars.
