off subject, i think with enough attention to detail i can make this look oem, im asking like wich set up is best. Which is the most Possible. And any issues, such as speaker magnets being too close adn how to correct?

the backseats of the alero aren't very spacious. and im assuming you have a 4 door because that wouldnt work very well in the 2door at all. it would have to be as thick is the stock console.. which wouldnt be enough width to put 2 6x9s on it. like everyone else said just upgrade your speakers and get an amp for em. dont waste ur time on somthing dumb like this

doing that with the side speak design would provide a foot or so of width, then if i separated teh interior with wood, i hting the mags would be fine, is this right

you realize your doing all this work for a taller cupholder... speakers will be behind you and down. not gonna hear em to well from where you're sitting, just listen to the other people who know what theyre talking about and dont waste your time

THAT looks pretty good. you dont need speakers on it... thats just useless. plus unless ur bdyman i doubt its gonna look anywhere near as good. thats just my opinion after the 5 hour energy shifter

thats similar to what i want, just the front part though, if i extended it on to the seat, it would affect the rear seats folding down
and it don't take a genius to round corners and sand wood (that's a slam to bdyman, I think hes a genius with the stuff i've seen on here)
Ps. There seems to be a handful of brilliant minds on here, I wish I was one, but theres a bunch of ^^^^ who talk down ideas and don't seem to have done anything

then whats the point? instead of making it easy for the people in the back to get from side to side, your just adding an extended cupholder with speakers on it. my cars a 2 door so whenever im in the driver seat, i refuse to let anyone in on my side (unless shes a good looking female). everyone uses the passenger door/seat to get in the back. its my car- im not moving rofl.

wood??? why not fiberglass or mold some plastic at least?
with wood you would have to sand and sand and sand and laqre(idk how to spell it) on top of your paint to act as clear coat just to get it too look "oem" or as it should even be there.
if your going to go with the speaker idea still look up the 09 gtr and try a middle speaker mount like that or something like in the 370z...
but otherwise i dont see the point....

i could easily take a block of wood, bore out to hole for drinks and fix it down, but whats the point and aesthetic value of that
because i haven't learned to fiberglass yet, so i'm using the skills i do have to produce something, i might try fiber glassing after i meet someone experienced enough to teach me how
for oem i was thinking a lot of sanding, couple coats of cheap paint, some couats of textured paint, then go light with an oem color match to keep the texture

still, do u really want to spend 50+ on a pair of speakers for a console like that? thats over 2 tanks of gas. not to mention price of wood/w.e u would use to cover it. im not trying to be a douche or anything, i just think its a mod that doesnt need to be done at all- pointless. kind of like adding video monitors on the backs of the headrests.... unless u have kids why even bother?

true with wood it will be easier to do if you really want to do this .. but i dont think the end result will look "natural" to the car like fiberglass or something would. jmo

i apprecaite that and if you'd come down here and show me how id do it lol
as for the money and speakers, why replace anything or mod anything if that's your veiw.
Modding is all in the point of Improving and being different
