Actualy what sucks, is that the heads have to go back. My car has California Emissions on it. I already knew this but I didn't know that the heads have a Air Injection Port on it for the emissions. I was givin 2 options on it. Either send my heads up to Mississauga, ON and be without a car for 2 weeks, at least, or bypass the airpump and pull it out. Both options don't work.

My mech said that you cannot bypass the emission system becasue the car will not pass emissions and will burn up a pistion and the cat. convertor. He call up a guy about porting and polishing my stock heads. That cost too much and I'd be without a car of 1 week.

So I just told him that I'm sending back the heads to Mississauga and getting my money back. I'm still doing the headers, crank pulley and SLP exhaust. My car won't be as fast but will still be in the 14's in the 1/4 mile unless it's 85% humidity or higher

I'll be happy with that. Does anybody know if the crank pulley will increase the amount of HP that is transfred to the wheels? I know the car will rev higher will this installed

Ken why don't you get another set of heads from a junkyard that has the emissions and send those to RSM?

the pulley is probably only going to free up 2-3hp

hey red... the air pump is electric correct?

we eliminated one on my friends Z34. the 92 with a manual had the air system. anyway only thing that shoudl be different is the computer and some in the wiring
but if you get the comp from a non cali emissions car and delete the air pump it shouldn't throw any codes or anything.
all the air pump does is pump air into the ehxaust. removing it and going to a federal system will still let it pass.

you dont live in cali right? if not then you can remove it and you will still pass

The junkyard heads was an idea but this is going to be the last project that I do. The car won't be as fast as I want it but it should still be in the 14's

Eastern PA as well as a few other states in the mid-alantic area have adpoted Cali emissions and with not air pump (yes it's electrical)no mech or emissions testing station will touch it. In fact, the Commonwealth sets up shops with a car without airpumps and emission controls and if they test the car, they take the shop's license. I've seen it happen once before.

The headers and full SLP exhaust is nice The car wasn't ready today but he started it for me and, damn does that new system sound deep, good, and loud  He jsut has to weld the tips on now

Plus with the pulley, it revs so fast

ouch...that sux man......too bad you can't take off that emissions control crap...dave from High Rev had a grand am that had that on it and he said it sucked ass and that it'd be a lot faster without it. But you gotta keep it legal! I think if you hit 14's with it on and everything that's damn good. Just think if u didnt have it though....

Really not too much of a difference, they both look the same

It's done today, I'll post some pics of the headers installed  It sounds really cool and with the pulley, tap the gas, and it goes
