I may sound like a idiot. Which might be rightfully so.

I cannot find the PCM on my 2000 alero.

I looked all over under the drivers side dash. Around the brake pedal and over near the door.

If my digital camera and PC weren't being roosters I would upload some pictures. Anyone know where it is?? Well I'm certian some of you peole on here do and what does it look like?

If anything, I'm looking right at it and don't even know it. If any of you have pictures that would be a awesome thing.

i think you remove a plastic panel, and there is a whole bunch of wires going into a silver box, which is held up by a cream color plastic harness.

ha.. I found it. Now I feel like a jackass, it is near the hood release, clutch pedal to be exact.

God is it a bitch to get out.

Whoever thought of putting it there should be punched in the face.

Shold have been placed under the hood under the coolant tank or some other place.

yea so if your cap accidental goes or it overflows it goes all onto the pcm.....god why didnt they think of that lol.........nah im just playing man....its probably in the spot because its a compromise of running wires into the engine bay and wherever else they need to be......its just where it ended up being.....not everything can be a piece of cake to get into....

On the W-bodies, or at least gen. 1 up to 1997.. that's where it is.

It's housed inside a waterproof plastic box. On the passenger side.

maybe they were having troubles with heat from under the hood......maybe the water proof box wasnt so water proof i guess there could be a lot of reasons to change it.......
