I have a peridoic #6 cylinder misfire (3400 of course).

I have recently done a tune up. I use AC-Delco parts ONLY. Platnum AC-Delco plugs.

The light comes on but I don't feel a misfire??

I am thinking it might be the injector in cylinder #6.. I thought I would throw this out to anyone who has had the problem as well before I buy a new set of injectors. ($$$ OUCH)

I think this is a common problem along with the 3100 V-6's GM produced. I had the same aggrovating problem with my Cutlass but on Cylinder #3

I never had a problem with the 3100 that I had in my Cutlass Ciera and I had it well into 90,000 miles.

Did you put new plug wires on also? Alot of times if you don't put die electric greese on the coil terminals they get water in the boots and causes them to rust and corode (sp?) wich will throw a code and cause a missfire.

Yes.. a full tune up. Plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter. All AC-Delco.

I think it could possibly be a clogged injector. But I don't feel anything or see any shaking to indicate it isnt geting enough fuel pressure.

Could it be a coil pack?

did this JUST happen after the tune up?

if so, double check your gaps on your plugs, you did gap them to .060 right? please say you did and you didnt just take them out the box and put them in.

if you just took them out and put them in, i would bet at least one plug is not gapped right.

if you did gap them right and the SES light just came on, there is something wrong with what you did, double check your stuff again.

if the light was on before you did the tune up, you MIGHT have a bad coil pack OR a bad PCM inector driver. i wouldnt say its the fuel injector just yet, but if it is, i got a couple hookups on some injectors for fairly cheap.

yes, they were gapped correctly. I had autozone kill the SES light it hasnt come on for a week now. We shall see what happens.

That is a possibility I looked over.. the coil pack. Those are cheap if that is in fact the culprit.

Like I said check the coil pack terminals and see what they look like if any of them are corroded (sp?) or rusty that is your problem. I see this alot on the 2.2s and 2.4s. If they aren't to bad you could get away with cleaning them but it is beter to replace them.
