Nokya Motorsports Shift Knob Rattle Fix

Hey, I thought I'd write this up for anyone who wants to use this product. I also just figured it out today, I knew what the problem was, but the source of the fix had just hit me in the last hour.

First off here's the product
http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/inde...ageID=50684573

This product looks really nice, and I've had no issues with the sun heating up beyond warm, the steering wheel gets hotter then this aluminum. The problem is fitment with the spring. With the spring that was included, the button does not have enough travel to allow to the vehicle to leave park or allow it to come all the way up and take the key out. The main reason for there not being enough travel is that the spring compresses upon itself allowing it to become only so compact.

How i made it work to begin with was by setting the spring down and tightening to where the piece could come up all the way, and throwing away the spring.

This left a problem behind. When in other gears the button is resting on the white piece inside, allowing the button to rattle on rough roads and to the bass of the subs.

The Fix and How To
The fix is a spring that compresses inside itself, these are common in flashlights that use D size batteries. Using a 3.00 Tuffster Flashlight from Dollar General(closest place with in 20min) I retrieved a spring like is needed.

Step one. Cut open flashlight and retrieve the new spring.
Step two. Take the top piece off the shift knob and button off.
Step three. Trim the base of the spring to the diameter of the shift Knob.
Step four. Push button in to the top piece and wedge the spring in behind it.
Step five. Screw the top piece back down.
Done congratulations you button is now able to travel down far enough and will no longer rattle(Not responsible if you've done something else wrong)

I can/was provide pictures if you need them
They got deleted by me because i wanted better ones.

I hope this helps anyone who's using this knob and experiencing the same problem.

I use the same knob.

You actually just put it on wrong. if you loosen the shifter and move it up/down and re-tighten it, it works perfectly.

Like i said, I use the same one in blue, and it took me a few times to get the sweet spot, but I had it after 35-40 minutes or so.

Seems alot easier to me.
