2.4 twin cam transmission....

Whats up everyone,

It's been just over a year since I've logged on to this website. Still having problems with my transmission and I've had it looked at two different dealerships and they say nothing is wrong. When I first start driving it it's ok. but then it starts slipping/clunking from first to second when i'm accelerating after a complete stop. Is it something with the timing chain or whatever??? it's annoying...anybody else have this problem?

not timing chain. is it only during shift? is it only 1st to 2nd? could it be a cv joint? could it be motor mount?

well it could be a series of things like a bad TPS, bad TCC selenoid, bad map ssensor, bad IAT sensor or before you got the car someone put a J body transmission on it, the J 4t40 and the N 4t40 are for some odd reason different and our cars do not like them, i learned the hard way.

ya it's during the shift from 1st to second. sometimes the shifts are ok but the more i drive the worse it gets. How much is a motor mount or CV joint??

I'd avoid the transmission place unless it actually did go out....

I have the same problem. Changed the IAT sensor, the pigtail, the TPS and the vacuum line going to the MAP sensor. The vacuum line seemed to fix it until now. It is doing the same damn thing again. It hesitates on acceleration and it flutters when idling.

Ya, it drives fine but then after a certain amount of time it decides to start acting up......there's got to be something to get this problem fixed....but if it's normal i guess i'll have to live with it. I'm trying to keep this alero it only has about 60,600 miles on it and it's a 2001.
