build thread
well next week i will officially begin the boost build. we are back to 55 hr weeks and i dont have a girlfriend anymore to spend all my money on so its going to the car now haha. I wont take it off the road officially until after ass. I scheduled a dyno/tune day at a shop down the road from my work for next week just to get a baseline hp/tq number and they are pretty excited to see the after numbers. I originally wanted to supercharge but i decided to go with a turbo setup. this wont be done until next spring so i will have plenty of time to learn and build. already have my eyes on some basic parts so hopefully in the next couple months i will have a spare motor and trans to start building up.
and mine as well throw in a before picture:

If it runs well I'd say so. I'm not much into 4-cyls but I seem to remember hearing the W41 is a highly desired engine? Maybe worth buying even if it's shot and rebuilding.

^Correct!
W41 was the higher performance factory engine. Running is good but it does look pretty rough at the moment. Get starter and any other small bits available just in case. Price?
