6x9 grill question
Hey,
the Crutch is selling some nice infinity's but the midrange and tweets look like they poke up a bit. Can we remove the grills from the rear deck easily or they have to be cut out?

You don't need to remove the grill, I had the same speakers and they fit perfectly in the factory mounts.

Do you guys know if the Grand AM & Alero share the same rear deck/speaker design or are they different? My son wants to upgrade the sound system on the GA so these speakers might be nice if they fit.

LOL You're gonna love this. I had asked the Crutchfield guys the same question and here is the reply..
Hi Christian,
Thanks for your reply.
"The Infnity speakers are listed as not fitting your vehicle are listed that way for a few reasons. First the magnet diameter on these speakers is larger than the space you have available. You'd have to widen out the hole in the door to make room for these. Also, the mounting height (amount the tweeter reaches above the top of the speaker) is too high for this location. The tweeter would make contact with the speaker grille when you put the panel back on".

I cut out just larger part then mounted the after market grill on top. for cutting it you'll need a dremmel, I took mine out all the way to paint it as well and its a huge paint without tearing the crap out of the grill mounts and the deck. looked pretty good.

Why does the reply say "widen out the hole in the door". These are obviously not going in the doors. I was able to fit crescendo 6.5s in the rear deck and it has a larger magnet than the infinity 9633's.
