Underglow Laws

Does anyone have a link to a site that lists underglow laws by state, kind of like the tint one that's up here. I just looked up my own which allows any color of them (yay super lenient ND laws), and I thought this would be a convenient resource for others if anyone knows about it.

as to my understanding no underglow shall be used while the vehicle is moving as its a distraction to other drivers

in NY, i think it depends on the vehicle too. I've seen semi's that are lit up like its f'n christmas. And bikes with full body glow... yet cars with anything external get nailed.

It doesn't make sense.

I read that ND allows any as long as the bulb isn't showing, maybe I should just go to the PD and ask.

They lie half the time..telling you its illegal just so you dont do it.

and from what i've heard most of canada is not allowed while moving as distraction to other drivers (as robalero said), they used to ticket people for spinner rims for same reason

heck they don't like people using it in parking lots while the car is turned off half the time, they will go over and tell you to turn it off because "incase you leave and forget their on" excuse

My neighbor is a cop and a friend of mine, so I think I'll get an honest answer from him.

cop told me when i used to have red, it was illegal (i was in a different town) the lights were constant none flashing, he said red blue and green are all emergency vehicle colors and cant have them but in my town the cops here said as long as they are not flashing or cant see bulbs from front of car they are legal.

just email the chief of police in your area about it and see what he says. thats what i did. and if you get pulled over just tell the cop that you talked to the chief and he said it was fine.
