Mid-bass?

Ok so ive been doing a bit of research around and i'm really interested in adding some mid-bass to the car. seeing as that's the one area of sound that sounds the worst in my car. anything 20-100hz sounds great but higher then that to the 5.25 american bass range = nonexistent. i want to make two boxes of some kind to be mounted in the 6x9 deck. each side having the 5.25 speaker as well as a mid-bass driver. not gonna go with the kick panels. any input/experience with this is greatly appreciated

Rear fill up high = instant fail

You want them mounted low. Custom cutouts into the rear molding (for a 2dr car?)

Besides that you will want a crossover to bandpass them.

5.25" speakers dont produce a strong midbass presence. Nature of the beast.

I would put them in a sealed box, around 2 liters or so of air.

If you purchase speakers through me I can test them (T/S Specs if not available) and give you specifics for box sizes.

i was toying with the idea of mounting speakers in the sides of the arm rests. ryan was helping out with that one time or another i believe.

my 1990 cougar had side mounted speakers, i think it sounded much better, even though the speakers were only 5x6

I had a 94 cougar and I custom mounted speakers under the arm rest portion. Worked awesome.
