based upon the minimal thickness differences and the likeness of the materials used throughout the brands, I am sure they perform all the same really. I have dynamat extreme here and Peel N Seal(which look exactly alike), i'll try some of each out on some test panels or a bell or summin and see if there's any difference. I'm sure there won't be any though. None of this stuff is really supposed to "deaden" sound as in keep road noise and such out. it's more or less to stop resonance and vibrations in panels and metals.

there's another post where it actually does a hands on comparison, i'll try and find it, but second skin and dynamat extreme were the best lasting the longest on temp test, adhesiveness, and some other tests.

The dynamat extreme worked well in the oldsmobile. I will likely go with something else in my mazda as dynamat is overpriced IMO.

i would suggest ebay for dynamat. Dynamat does offer the best results but i do agree it is quite expensive. Do not get Edead for anything like the doors and trunk lid and side panels. The stuff does not stick on very well in heat. I used it and i installed it after i cleaned down the metal and in 95degree heat in NC it shifted down about 1/4in on the door panel and some fell off in the trunk. Second Skin is a bit better than dynamat and ANT offers a forum discount for select forums.

i did a quite a bit last night on my alero. i used about half dynamat extreme and half peel n seal. they both seemed about the same except application of the dynamat sucks. the adhesive surface is very uneven and leaves air pockets without using a heat gun. seel n peal very easy to work with and very easy to apply. other than that, I tried each on some panels that really needed it and I couldn't tell a difference. the seel n peal also did not smell up the car like some say, but I also didnt use any heat to apply it, just a roller.

Sounds good to me, im guessing a hardware store has this? one question, Does the matting stop rattling of door pannels or just deaded the sound from the outside?

it's meant to stop rattling and resonance from metal panels, NOT deaden sound. that foam poop is a better sound deadener

for sound Deadening, i'd suggest "frost king" insulation. its aluminum like on one side and sticky foam on the other. You can get it at any hardware store. works pretty good. very easy to use too.

I'm using dynamat xtreme mainly because I got it for $75 a bulk pack...so I ordered 3...I only used 1 to do pretty much do what I wanted to do with it...I used it in the trunk, 2 layers on the rear doors, and 2 layers on the front driver door...didn't make it to the passenger door...but no worries...I've got more.
