I see this exhaust is compatable with our engines, but will it fit an Alero?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...ssPageName=WD1V

If this isn't compatable, what is?

Thanks

Its its for the Cavalier,. it probably won't fit due to pipe routing, unless the cavy is routed the same as a alero (doubt it)

anything for a 99+ Alero, GrandAm or Malibu. Cat-back doesn't matter which engine or if it is 2dr or 4dr.

soo......what would you guys suggest? I heard anything that I get is gonna sound ricey, but I would like the *least ricey* sounding tone. Are any of these worth it?

you heard wrong and the peeps on here that keep saying that need to give it up. The superturbo muffler on my 4banger is anything but "ricey" sounding. That link comes up with nearly 2600 items, narrow it down some.

is your muffler the dynomax one? Like this one? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...ssPageName=WDVW

I appreciate all the help Grouch.

hmmm....yeah I only got 29 results this time too, dunno why it did what it did the first time.

That muffler is close. Most of us that have the Dynomax ST muffler have the Camaro direct replacement muffler. It has a single inlet and dual outlets all being 2.5-inches in diameter. But has the same basic shape as the one in that auction.

This is it here: http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?...ch.asp&N=400358 if link doesn't work the part number for it is: WLK-17739

thanks for pointing me to that site! It shows that the auction link I posted is over-priced.

so, would you say clamping it on is okay, or would you prefer welding it on? I don't think I know anybody that would be able to get me a deal on welding...

Welding gives a better seal. Last weekend, a buddy and I clamped on a new muffler to my car. We hacksawed off the stock one which reminded me of the shape of the state of Idaho. I ran it at idle, passed my hand over the pipes and felt a little bit of air coming out. I didn't feel like taking it apart again so I bought some muffler sealant and just let a few coats dry around the seals. I can feel no leaks and it sounds a lot better although I will eventually get it welded. By the way, we installed a cheap eBay muffler (stock piping) and it really does sound great without the silencer and it is not obnoxious. It sounds like my girlfriend's Pontiac Grand Prix Daytona 500... lots of rumble.
