not necessarily.
-- For complete Info on that topic look in my threads Here and Here
HID's produce way more lumens than stock halogen bulbs.
The structure of our headlights (reflector type HL) arent supposed to house these HID bulbs. So the light pattern is (sometimes) heavily deformed / distorted. This results in glare and blinds oncoming traffic.
The bad thing also is that the light pattern that is tried to achieve with headlights, isnt exactly working anymore if you put in HID's.
But this isnt that big deal, unless you want perfect light on the street.
In the last links last post I presented a new type of HID, that should provide perfect beam pattern / cut off line / and as less glare as possible.
But its quite expensive

standard aiming applies... just aim them, then go stand in front... see how glare-y they are. if its really bad for you to look at.... aim them down a bit. more glare = better chance to get pulled over.

I noticed there isn't a lot of glare with our heads compared to a lot of other cars out there.

Just installed my DDM's today after work. I got the slims HI's and LO's with 6000k for lows and 5000k for hi. Anyone had to reverse their polarity and how did you keep the plug in? Also where did you put the balast at. I tucked mine behind the whole light housing, lol. Overall I love the way they look and light up the road at a great price too!!!

Yea. I couldn't figure out why they wouldn't work until about 20 minutes later I realized the wires were backwards. I just have them sitting on there, everything is so snug in the housing I doubt they're wiggling free. It's a tight fit over the plug anyways. Good to hear you're enjoying them!
And for anyone that could maybe help me, recently I noticed my drivers side lights are aimed down into the ground maybe 8 feet in front of the car. Everything is seated right, but the adjustments no longer work? Any suggestions?

i had that problem with mine, what i did because i couldn't think of anything i took the housing out completely and say the low beam fixture was angled down and i put my finger in there and pushed it up, surprisingly it worked. Again I didnt expect it to work i was bored and ran out of ideas.

Nice, nice. Are those 6500k? They're pretty damn bright. Is it the lighting, or are they 55w?

after clearing my corners (oven method) the litle gears on the back of my headlights for the adjustments, broke off. (i'm getting the heat melted the plastic on the metal peg holding the gear in place) So i just use a small pair of pliers to pull/twist the peg in and out to change the longitude/lattitude of the beam.

Turns out the housing for the bulbs inside my headlight is broken free and shifts around a bit. I need to take it apart and glue/epoxy/something it back together
