Sounds like a frozen caliper. It happens.

Is it leaking brake fluid at all? That happens sometimes becuase the fluid has nowhere to go in this case

It's up to you about the Corvette brake upgrade. It's a bit more expensive than replacing the stock caliper, and you need 17 inch wheels to do it.

If you have that, by all means DO IT!! It would look awesome.

A guy on GAGT did fit 16 inch Grand Prix wheels on there. The 5 start ones with the really thin spokes. I think the offset on them is +56mm

seized caliper piston, time for new calipers

check for leaks around caliper area, check brake fluid level. take it to a brake shop and have them check out which one(s) is/are leaking and put on some new calipers

probably not, but it will wear your pads down. and if your pads seize and won't move when you need brakes, you're effed

could the brakes need bleeding? i mean, maybe there's air in the lines somewhere for whatever reason? or what about a master cylinder?

those could be the problem or part of the problem as well, that's why i say go get it checked out! brakes are not to be taken lightly.

yes the e-brake always works, as long as you have rear rotors and wheels/tires. and the cable isn't broken.

btw cherri didn't post in this thread

this happened to me just last week

if you don't fix it soon, you're gonna wear down your brake pad in no time driving 54 miles a day

you can ignore the problem, but it's probably just going to get worse

then you're probably going to end up needing a new caliper (160 bucks)

I'd just take it to some place and have it checked out, a lot of places do it for free, I just got mine checked out at Michel tire for free and even though they couldn't fix it, they still explained what was wrong.

lol, Michel tire must be a complete ripoff
they told me it was 160 bucks per caliper for new ones
don't go there then

but anyway wouldn't he need to get two calipers anyway though?
If you replace one with a new one but still have an old one won't you feel a pulling to the side of the new caliper when you brake?

I just went through my pins beinging seized. One on each side and all it did was cause my pads to wear down really fast and uneven. If it is indeed the pins seizing they make a kit to replace the caliper clips and the pins and pin boots. That would be the way I would go as long as the brake piston is good. It's a bitch to get them out but if you know some one with a torch, have them heat them up and it will pop right out. Once its out its a piece of cake, but DO NOT and I will repeat this because it is do important...DO NOT ring the head of the pin off because you will have screwed yourself in the behind with no lube. Don't forget the high heat grease when putting the new pins in, and wha la fixed. I don't have to tell you about having to get the new pads.

ya they'd be anally raping you there

no, i got only one caliper replaced when mine leaks, brakes evenly. if the caliper's not bad it's not going to affect anything
