Don't know about the install cost but RSM is a really good site. I bought the P&P upper and lower manifold and TB for the 3400 and the products are good and the customer service is great

That intake is a complete waste of money. It's a stock manifold with the little lip up by the top of the intake taken out with a dremel so it can accomodate throttle bodies larger then 59mm, but it flows no better than the stock intake manifold. It's a waste of money. Get a 2.3 QUAD4 intake manifold instead if you need something with higher flow...

don't you have to do all kinds of crazy poop to get those to work with our motors? about how much do those cost?

you have to port match and modify mounting holes. it really isn't hard. unless you have no way to port match. also you have to rerun throttle cable, vacuum lines and possiblity mounting cruise in another spot.

i will be doing this mod either this month or next month.

it's a lil more complex than just port matching w/ a dremel....

You have to add material to the intake manifold to get a perfect match w/ the 2.4L head.

Somebody could probably make you a flange and do the intake dremel work for you so it bolts right up and then send that along with detailed instructions on how to hook up the throttle body.. kind of like a "kit"

The intake you are looking at I can do for ya for like $20, if you want to send me yours. As for the HO intake manny that is another story; I can do it but It would cost more since there is the matter of doing alum welding in addition to porting. Most intake manifolds usually don't do anything to help power, it only gives better throttle response, there are some exceptions.

The intake in the pic is a STOCK intake manny, at least it appears to be, that has just been ported out. All you need to do that is a deburring bit and a grinder/drill. I got one to port an aluminum manny, so I if you want I can do that will take longer for you to box it up and take it to UPS than it would to do the actual port.


FWIW, I paid like $30 for the deburring bit (titanium coated), if you want to look into doing it yourself

mantapart sells an intake flange that you can weld onto the 2.3HO intake manifold... for a bolt on install. just take it to a shop that does a lot of fabricating and welding ... and you'd be alls et.

Yeah and it only cost $75, if you even get it :unsure: Then you just need to source a HO intake, cut the old flange off, and weld the new one on, all while keeping everything straight, BTW cutting alum is not an easy process, it gives off lots of bad stuff.

You're best bet is to port your own intake, get a bit, ~$30, and have at it. If you want the HO intake have a shop do the welds, unless you know someone who can do quality alum welds, TIG or otherwise, and then do your own posting, etc.
