Does the intake for the 2.4L Cavy Z24 00-02 fit an 01 Alero with a 2.4? I have heard that it does but wondered if there was any modification needed. Also, does anyone know if the polished version is clear coated or if its just bare aluminum? Also, is it TOO loud? This car is stock and the engine noise is twice as loud as the 3.4 we had. Unfortunately, the 3.4 got rear-ended by a semi the other day, so she has passed on :wah:

What are you documenting on video? If your documenting the intake install, I must ask why? Its easy, a 6 year old with a wrench set could do it.

Well, *edit*fudge* it I guess. I have seen some retarded *edit*arse* questions on here, so I figure some could benefit from it, but oh well. If you guys wanna know, it is pretty easy, though there's some odd stuff along the way...but I guess Nikatrel doesn't wanna watch the video. For everyone else, here's a video of before and after the install, starting and revving the engine. Sorry about the change in light, we started kinda late and ended close to dark. If anyone else would like to see the install, or at least what I did record of it, just ask.

I'm just going to say, if a person can't install their own intake by figuring it out, than well they shouldn't even be allowed to work on a car. It's not exactly a labor intensive install, nor difficult one, nor one that takes more than 1 man.

Boy, for some people that are usually entertained by pretty much anything, you guys sure are getting your panties in a bunch about me recording the install....the only "help" I had was my fiance, and that was because I wanted her to see what came out and what went in, as I had just spent $170 on it for her. I would love to see any install videos that you guys have, even if it is something lame. I guess you guys don't appreciate videos, though...I guess I shoulda taken some pictures of it afterwards instead so as not to confuse/frustrate anyone who is too cool to see the process. Sorry if my videos and kindness (for volunteering my time to post the videos) have offended any of you automobile gurus.

there's no guru or cool factor involved at all...

it's just that it's really such a simple install. I never had an objections to a video, I just made an obvious statement about the difficulty of the install process.

as far as I checked as well, I'm pretty much the only person even responding to your posts.

cheeelll, dont get the panties in the twist.

Hey ShortsTRM, relax, no one said they didn't want to see it, only that its a pretty simple install.

Plus, no working around the word filters please, i would appreciate if you would edit your post.

lol....I just got censored for censoring myself. Who knew the FCC was on here? Anyways, my post has been fixed, and I believe that the a word is very common on The Simpsons, the star of which is in your avatar, drinking a beer in his underwear. Is that a wardrobe malfunction, Mr. Simpson? And the first reply I made to anyone was to Nikatrel or whatever his name is...but I'm done with this discussion, I did not join these forums to argue with or degrade anyone. I was just trying to help and thought people might wanna see what type of things lie ahead for them if they plan to install an AEM intake.

Thanks man...There are some more at ATABO.com, but not of the same Alero. I have posted those vids before, though, so you may have seen them.

Do you have the part/model # for that intake? I checked on the aem website but could only find the 2.2L intake. That video sold me on it, I wanna see if I can get it from a dealer here and for how much.

Go to the AEM site and look up a cavalier Z24 for the same year as your Alero. The part# was 22-445, but there is also a dyno graph for this engine and intake so you may still wanna look it up on their website.

Hey, thanks again man, I really do appreciate it. I do a lot of stuff to get those videos, put them on the computer, upload em, and then host them. so I'm glad you enjoyed them. As I said, much appreciated.
