06 Cobalt Won't Start

My wife's cobalt has battery power but when you turn it it just clicks loud and the engine light and security light flash. Is it a VATS issue?

If it is not the battery, it sounds like ignition switch issues. Or if the cobalt has something similar to the passlock, it could be that.

Have you tried jumping it? Could just be the battery getting old? Or a bad connection? Or the charging system?

Gonna check the battery tonight for a shorted cell. It was this morning that it happened and so I had to hurrry and take her to work. I think/ hope it is only the battery

Just an FYI. It was the battery. Funny thing. Autozone showed it to be a good battery but their tester will show good if it shows enough voltage but it was a shorted cell just like what happened to me after a 5 year old battery
