Exclamation Quick Help: Strut Tower Mount

I just had my mounts/struts/springs replaced. I have no idea why he tightened them down this much, but the mech who did it, REALLY cranked one of the bolts down on the top of the strut mount. When I went to put my STBs back on (had removed them prior and left them at home) the bolt and nut snapped off, when I loosened it.

Can you replace just that bolt? Or will it have to be the whole mount? Also, how hard it is to get to?

Delete this.

You can just hammer out the old and replace it with a bolt (if you can get to it and your strong enough to hammer out a pressed bolt)

I...cannot. The mount isn't reachable from the bottom, and to drop the strut, I broke a 1 box wrench and 2 socket wrenches trying to get the lower strut bolt loose. (didn't even get one to budge) So back it goes...

FYI, locking upper strut tower nuts SUCK. Don't get them. They torque down at nearly the breaking point of the studs they sit on.

lol seriously get some better tools, u make it seem like those nuts are torqued down so much that you would need to call up jesus to come over with a breaker bar to loosen them.

Seriously, I didn't do the install, because I don't have the time to screw around with this stuff anymore. If/when I have time, I won't have money for tools. When I have money for better tools, I'll probably end up paying someone to do the work, because I won't be able to do MY job with mangled mechanic hands.

I would have appreciated Jesus to stop by and help with his breaker bar... but he stopped returning my calls a while back. Jerk still has my weed-eater too.

so.... no. I won't invest in better tools.

^^So expect this kind of stuff to continue

I invested in a small air compressor and I have an electric impact gun but it's HUGE and hard to get in tight spaces. I either borrow tools or buy them as needed.

I bought a 1 1/8 impact socket for my 330. The crank bolt is that big, but I bought the impact this way I can use it regular or with my impact gun. I think it was $8 and I used it as few times already
