I was thinking of replacing my 4x6's with the Infinity X and then throwing some new tweeters in. Crutch says these don't fit any recommendations?

Do you have an amp for all of your speakers as well as the tweeters?

If you don't want to make your own mount, you can get adaptors for the Cavalier that turn 4x6 into 6 1/2. That's how I did it on my car. I had to custom make a ring for the speakers so it wouldn't touch the panel and rip, but other than that, it works really good and sounds better than the 4x6

Valley olds is an unknown quantity at this point
I would suggest not investing much in the rear deck and instead work on the door speakers. Personally, I am running 4x6 Memphis audio front speakers and it sounds okay. However, if I were to buy again, I would probably go for something that will fit in place of the OEM speakers, but round.

Maybe something like this:

As for not wanting to put subs in the trunk because of space. I am currently having the same issue. Instead, I think I will go for a bass tube later. It should leave space to put other stuff I may need in the trunk.

Something like this. But a tube with built in amp would probably save even more space.
